Choose the relevant Beam Bench calibration tests, verify on scrap, and record settings for repeatable work.
Beam Bench provides three different quality-test workflows. Each answers a different question, and not every material or machine needs all three. Run only the relevant tests on suitable scrap, stay within the machine and material manufacturers' limits, and record settings only after inspecting the physical result. Test duration depends on the pattern, settings, and machine.

Workflow
For a new or changed material setup:
- Verify focus using the machine manufacturer's supported procedure. Use Beam Bench's Focus Test only when the connected machine and profile support controlled Z output and that test is appropriate for the machine.
- Run a Material Test for the operation you care about, using conservative bounds derived from manufacturer guidance or settings already validated on the same machine and material.
- Run an Interval Test only for raster fill or engraving when scan-line spacing needs calibration.
- Inspect the scrap result, then manually save the verified speed, power, interval, and other relevant settings to the Material Library.
Saved results are specific to the machine, material batch and thickness, focus, optics, airflow, and other process conditions. Re-test after relevant changes or whenever output quality drifts; a preset is a recorded starting point, not a permanent guarantee.
