Written guide
Read the demonstrated GRBL job states and distinguish Pause, Resume and Stop.
Control reference
- Use this as a control reference and written review. No project or machine run is needed to answer the questions.
- Before a real job, inspect the profile, positioning, intended output and your machine's physical setup.
- Pause requests a hold. In the demonstration, wait for Paused, controller Hold and the head to stop before treating the job as paused.
- Resume continues the same paused job. Start begins a new job; it is not another name for Resume.
- Stop cancels the current job. In the demonstrated setup GRBL then reports Alarm. Follow your controller's documented recovery procedure.
- Finishing is still part of the run. Wait for completed status and the head to stop. Saving preserves design/settings, not a paused live session.
Quick review
Answer from the control reference. You do not need to connect, start, pause or cancel a job to complete this review.
- Use both app job status and controller status when interpreting the demonstration.
- A later restart requires a fresh setup check and inspection of any work already completed.
- Which control continues the same paused job?
- Can Resume continue the job after Stop?
- Does saving the project preserve a paused controller session?
Explained answers and files
- Continue a pause
- Resume. Running returns and progress continues within the current live job.
- After Stop
- The job is canceled. Start begins a new run and requires a fresh setup check.
- Saved project
- Design/settings are saved. The live paused job session is not.
