Beam Bench Docs

Supported file formats

Artwork imports, project files, and output formats.

What can I import?

Beam Bench reads SVG, DXF, LightBurn .lbrn and .lbrn2, supported PDF/AI/EPS path content, and PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, WebP, TIFF, and TGA images.

PDF import is restricted to supported single-page vector documents. Convert text and unsupported effects to paths, or export SVG. DXF supports a defined set of 2D entities and reports unsupported content. Read Supported imports before relying on a format's compatibility.

A dedicated API operation can import supported linear G-code geometry. This is separate from the artwork picker and does not run the imported program.

What should I save?

Use a Beam Bench .lzrproj project to keep editable artwork, layer settings, job placement, and other project state. Exported artwork files generally do not retain laser settings.

What can I export?

Vector exports include SVG, DXF, PDF, EPS, and AI. The desktop app also exports canvas images as PNG, JPEG, or BMP. Save generated G-code separately when you need machine output.

See Supported exports and G-code output.

Will every file look identical?

No. Formats and source applications support different features. Compare geometry, dimensions, text, and layer settings after import, then check Preview before running the job.
