Copy Along Path

Duplicate the selection at intervals along an existing path. Optional rotation and scaling along the way.

The Copy Along Path dialog places copies of the selection at evenly spaced intervals along a target path. Useful for chains of decorations, perforation patterns, or anything that follows a curve.

When it opens

Menu: Arrange → Copy Along Path, with at least one object selected and a target path also in the project.

Fields

Scale CopiestoggleIf on, copies linearly scale from the first to the last copy.
Final Scale %number, 0.01–10000The scale percentage of the last copy. Disabled if Scale Copies is off.

Validation warns if Count is below 1 or Scale % is out of range.

Buttons

  • Close: dismiss without making copies.
  • Apply: perform the operation.

Workflow

  1. Select the object(s) to copy.
  2. Also have the target path in the project.
  3. Open the dialog and pick the path when prompted (or follow the dialog's UI for path selection).
  4. Set count, decide rotation/scale.
  5. Apply.
