Interval Test

Sweep raster line spacing and find the widest interval that still meets the fill-quality target.

The Interval Test generates one row of Fill cells at fixed speed and power. The cells progress from Min Interval on the left to Max Interval on the right. Use the result to choose the largest spacing that still produces acceptable fill and detail.

When it opens

Menu: Laser Tools → Interval Test.... The dialog uses the shared Quality Test Shell.

The material preset picker is optional. Applying a preset seeds speed and power and centers the Min/Max range at 0.5× and 1.5× the preset interval. The picker does not change a project layer or preset.

Actions

The Quality Test Shell provides Close, Preview, Frame, Start, and Save G-code. During a live test, Start changes to Pause or Resume, with Stop beside it.

Workflow

  1. Start with a narrow, known-safe interval bracket and tested Fill speed and power.
  2. Click Preview and check geometry and bed bounds.
  3. Secure the scrap and click Frame to verify the live footprint.
  4. Click Start and supervise the laser.
  5. Read cells from Min on the left to Max on the right and choose the widest acceptable result.
  6. Set that interval on a normal Fill layer, then use From Layer in the Material Library to capture it. The preset edit form has no Interval or DPI field.
