Material Test

Generate a power × speed (or any two parameters) sweep grid. The fastest way to dial in a new material.

The Material Test produces a grid of test patches that vary along two axes, typically power and speed, so you can pick the cell that gives the best result and save its settings as a Material Library preset.

This is the most-used quality test for new materials. Run it once per new material per machine.

When it opens

Menu: Machine → Quality Tests → Material Test. Opens inside the Quality Test Shell.

What you see

The dialog has many sections. Top to bottom:

Notes

  • Setting Operation to a vector op disables the Interval parameter (it does not apply to line cuts).
  • When switching operations, the dialog notifies if the change disabled a swept parameter.
  • Recipe management persists across sessions and can be shared.
