Warp

Apply perspective warp to the selection via a 2×2 mesh, the four corner handles.

The Warp tool applies a perspective transformation to the selection using four corner handles. Useful for skewing a design to follow a perspective, or correcting one already in perspective.

For finer deformation control, see Deform which uses a 4×4 grid.

Activate

  • Hotkey: no default
  • Toolbar: Modifiers Toolbar

How to use

  1. Select compatible objects (vector_path, shape, text, polygon, star, raster_image, barcode).
  2. Activate the tool.
  3. The four corner handles appear at the selection's bounds.
  4. Click and drag any corner handle to warp.
  5. Release to apply.

Modifiers and interactions

  • Shift + drag: constrain horizontal motion only.
  • Alt + drag: constrain vertical motion only.
  • Double-click a handle: reset it to its original position.
  • Esc: cancel and restore.

Compatible object types

vector_path, shape (rectangle, ellipse), text, polygon, star, raster_image, barcode.

If any selected object is locked or of an incompatible type, the tool is disabled and a status message explains why.

What gets modified

The selected objects are deformed in place via the vector service. The transformation is a perspective warp, corners stay corners but the geometry between is interpolated.

Result on the canvas

The selection takes on a perspective-distorted appearance. The original bounding box is replaced by a quadrilateral defined by the four handle positions.
