Preview is blank

You see

You open Preview (Alt+P). The window opens. The canvas inside is empty, no traced moves, no segments, no stats showing meaningful values.

What is happening

The planner ran but found nothing to plan, or the planner failed and the failure was suppressed.

Fix

If you see "No preview data. Add objects to generate a preview."

The project has no objects yet (empty canvas), or no objects are on output layers. Add something to the canvas, or enable an existing layer's output toggle in the Cuts/Layers panel.

If you see a red "Preview generation failed" overlay

The planner errored. Causes:

• A layer with zero power.
• A layer with an unsupported mode for the object type.
• A corrupt or unreadable image in an Image layer.
• A path with malformed geometry.

Try:

• Open layers one at a time (toggle others off) to find which one errors.
• For image layers, re-import the image (the original file may have been corrupted on disk).

If the preview canvas is just empty (no overlay, no error)

Likely all your geometry is at a position outside the visible preview area.

• Check object positions in the Shape Properties panel.
• Use the preview canvas's pan / zoom to look around (scroll to zoom, drag to pan).
• Double-click in the preview to fit-to-content.

If you opened Preview during plan generation

The plan may not have started yet. Wait a few seconds.

Verify it worked

• Preview shows traced moves matching your canvas content.
• Stats show non-zero Burn and Travel distances.
