Support and bug reports

The fastest way to get help is to send a diagnostic report from inside BeamBench so the app can include the machine, connection, log, and version details automatically.

Report a bug from the app

In BeamBench, choose Help > Report a Bug, describe what happened, review the “What gets sent” disclosure, and save or submit the report. When the report is received, the app will show a report ID like r-abc12345.

Keep that report ID. It is the easiest way to find your report later or request deletion.

Accepted reports are stored in BeamBench's database and may be mirrored into a private GitHub issue for triage. Attached project files stay in BeamBench's database only; GitHub receives the scrubbed diagnostics and a protected link.

Ask the community

For how-to questions, settings help, feature ideas, and anything that is not obviously a bug, the Beam Bench Facebook group is the fastest place to get an answer. Other makers and the developer read it, and ideas posted there shape what gets built next.

Connection problems

For laser connection issues, open Tools > Connection Diagnostics. That panel shows detected serial ports, connection state, recent serial traffic, GRBL response details, and known warnings for the detected machine.

If BeamBench cannot submit the report directly, use Save Diagnostics and email the saved file to support.

Email support

Email support@beambench.com with:

  • Your report ID, if the app gave you one.
  • The saved diagnostic report file, if direct submission failed.
  • Your laser model, controller or firmware if you know it, and your operating system.
  • A short description of what you expected and what happened instead.

Deleting a report

Email support@beambench.com with your report ID and ask for deletion. BeamBench will delete the report metadata and any attached .lzrproj file for that report.

Security issues

If you found a vulnerability, do not send it through normal support. Email security@beambench.com and include enough detail to reproduce it safely.
