Beam Bench Docs

v0.2.0 Workspace and Editing Update

Custom workspaces, Outliner, professional text shaping, expanded vector tools, and rebuilt preview and image workflows.

Beam Bench v0.2.0 is a substantial Design and Run workflow update. It adds customizable panel docks, a project Outliner, consistent Properties controls, stronger vector and text tools, and refreshed Preview, Trace Image, and Adjust Image windows.

Highlights

  • Design and Run remember separate layouts. Move tabs between docks, split columns into as many as three sections, float panels, or add a bottom dock.
  • The new Outliner shows layers, groups, and objects together so you can rename, reorder, select, hide, lock, and move project content.
  • Text now supports point and box creation, in-place editing, text on a path, RTL layout, welding, and Bend, Arch, Rise, Wave, Flag, Angle, and Circle shapes.
  • Node editing, trim, tabs, live offset preview, four- and sixteen-point warp, measurement, Boolean operations, and object transforms now use contextual Properties controls.
  • Line layers display as wireframes; fill, offset-fill, and image layers display filled with layer color and adjustable preview opacity.
  • Preview playback, travel and overscan display, image tracing, and raster adjustment have been corrected and redesigned.
  • All refreshed interfaces and documentation are available in every supported language.

Locked objects are edit-protected but still included in laser jobs. To exclude artwork, hide the object or disable its layer's Output.
