v0.2.25 Safer job starts, framing, and imports
Changes in Beam Bench 0.2.25.
- Emergency Stop now interrupts job preparation and prevents that job from starting afterwards.
- Frame Continuously repeats the same frame until stopped. A Frame speed control beside the framing options shares the Move panel's speed setting.
- Beam Bench requests sleep protection during active and paused jobs and framing. If the operating system cannot provide it, a warning asks you to keep the computer awake.
- GRBL and generic GRBL-compatible controllers can connect through a raw TCP/Telnet endpoint. The Network connection is labelled Wi-Fi / Ethernet, and Telnet negotiation no longer sends repeated refusal replies. A Wi-Fi web interface alone does not establish compatibility.
- PDF and PDF-compatible Illustrator imports support compressed objects, nested vector forms, and embedded images, with clipping and orientation preserved. Unsupported effects still produce an error before importing partial artwork.
- LightBurn bitmap imports retain the correct orientation and image power scales, including MGL calibration grids. Re-import the original file to correct an earlier import; existing Beam Bench projects are not automatically flipped.
- Large image planning uses less memory, and GRBL jobs stream from a disk-backed spool. Images exceeding the remaining limits receive guidance to reduce DPI or size.
- Interrupted canvas drags and panning recover when the window loses focus or pointer capture is lost.
- Failed initial GRBL sends release the connection so you can reconnect. Linux connection diagnostics include BRLTTY status and suggest a conflict only when the port also fails or is busy.
- The network label, Frame speed control, and preparation and sleep warnings are translated into every supported language.
